Another question: Once the childs dose is distributed appropriately and that distribution of meds is working fine, then would you not want to raise each dose, not just one or two doses. It's just that I presumed that as the child became older, their cortisol demands increased (see post to Carol) and with tablets that would mean increasing a total of 3.75mg instead of increasing each dose a small amount and just raising the total daily amount by say 2mg altogether. Surely if you increase one and not the others or two and not all three daily doses you then are tampering with the balance of distribution that has been working and cause problems. Just wondering if there is a good doctor anywhere that specialises in CAH that will be able to answer these questions that has been working with HCT for some time. I have contacted Carol's doctor once and he resonded right away but he mainly specialises in dex treatment in children not hct treatment.
