To all who read these postings I just wanted to take a second to let you all know what a well organized and informative meeting Kelly put in motion with Dr. New.  There were so many parents there, it was hard to believe there are so many others (what I mean by others is other than those of us who come here to post) out there with children suffering from this disorder.  I knew they existed, but seeing them made everything that much easier to cope with.  I felt right at home.  Kelly had provided snacks, there were news letters and bulletins for us to come home with and Dr. New as well as Dr. Baker lectured and answered questions.  Wow, so much information they gaveI didn't realize exactly what it was they were working on until I came to this meeting.  Fantastic minds, hopefully fantastic results through their tests and experiments.  I was VERY late getting to the meeting due to the old babysitter problems but managed to make a show of it in support of Kellys efforts to provide these meetings for parents and their children.  Dr. New talked about the effects of Dex on affected fetuses, birth weight, head circumference etc.  and from what she can tell there are no ill effects.  Aside from the Dex issue on fetuses and mothers, which from what I could understand it really had no ill effects she touched on her experiments.  Right now they have I believe 3 mice they are using for experiments in trying to solve the CAH riddle.  Once Dr. New can prove and has enough data to show that these experiments were successful and not harmful to the mice then she will be able to receive funding and can eventually begin this method on humans.  She lectured for quite a time, and was unable to go into GH treatment.  She said perhaps at the next meeting, so for those of you who were waiting to hear what she had to say about that...sorry, hopefully at the next meeting.  Well, hope my posting here has made sense, I am sure Kelly will inform everyone in a much more organized manner than I on what Dr. New talked about last night.  Anyway, Kelly deserves a big round of applause for doing what she is doing on her own time to bring CAH out of the dark!  Well done Kelly, thank you!  Kaye
