My daughter took Lupron shots for 7-1/2 years for CPP.  At the time I don't think there was any alternative therapy.  Recently, however, someone posted about a nasal spray type of  medication.  I am not familiar with it, but it is worth researching.

Just my own opinion, but I would ask about bone density and Lupron if you go that route.  I know it can cause osteoporosis in women who take it for endometriosis.  It happens rather quickly - after only months of treatment.  So far, no one knows anything about bone problems in children, but we are trying to find out if the Lupron or hydrocortone is responsible for my daughter's low bone density.  I am waiting for the doctors to come to their conclusion so we can begin to look at ways to improve it. I wish we had done some bone density scans along the way so maybe we could have avoided all this.  It is something to consider.  Good luck.
