Well yes "a" batch was recalled, but are they not still making it. I know that on the addisonians board they are using it, though having problems with that compared to other hydrocortisone suspension brands. The tablets are ok temporarily until you get suspension srted with your pharmacy. I really would not recommend them for children. The least they have is 5mg here, don't know about anywhere else and like I say, they will not guaratee something if you tamper with it AFTER they have made it. Tampering includes splitting and stuff in my books. If they want to help these kids and other children get the stuff they need, they need to make 1mg pills really. You can only split pills to 1.25mg (and even that is not as accurate as 1.25ml of suspension) and sometimes for a small child that is too much to facilitate proper growth. Dose raises should be small and frequent not large and infrequent. If it si sometime since your child had a dose increase, ask yourself why this is? Did they raise the last dose by 2.50mg or more. In a child on a daily dose of 10mg that is a 25% raise. Yes these kids need cortisol, but only replacement cortisol. Let's remember the side-effects can be serious. High blood pressure, calcium and bone loss etc not to mention a crabby child.
