You're right Becki, Upjohn made a switch in one of their ingredients and it failed miserably. It was a suspension agent whose job was to keep the meds evenly disbursed throughout the liquid in order to deliver an acurate dose of Cortef. It crystalized against the inside of the bottle and captured the active, life sustaining ingredient inside of it. It wasn't just one batch but rather a permenant alteration in the receipe thereby affecting ALL subsequent lots. It was the addition of this ingredient that ultimately caused the loss of babies lives, severe bone aging (5-6 years in one year) and a medley of other painful and life threatening scenarios. Upjohn's own researchers tested the product and found that 8 out of 9 children were not getting the intended dose from this formulation. Essensially, they were getting just the sugary orange stuff. The questions have to be asked about the effectiveness of the delivery agents being used to medicate our children and care MUST be taken so that this NEVER happens to our children ever again. It is too late to help Roberta, Reina and their little angels in heaven, but you can certainly take an active roll in what you accept as treatment for YOUR children. All we can do is be sure to take an active roll in their protocol. I am in touch with a few parents who lost their babies due to this seemingly minor alteration. Since I am currently involved in legal proceedings with Upjohn, and they do read this message board, I would be happy to "talk" further with anyone via email.(:>)LynnT
