Yes Laura, I made a call to a friend of mine who works at NORD and that is the law. I also called my pharmacist (just for further assurance) and he said he had not heard of any stoppage of the pill form of Cortef. Your doctor must be referring to the liquid form of cortef that Upjohn recalled a while ago due to ineffectiveness. If this should ever happen in the future though, there ARE other meds that are prescribed instead of cortef. Dexamethasone and prednisolone are just two that come to mind. It is very scary to think that your child, who depends on meds for their very lives, may be without for any amount of time. I am banking that this is just a misunderstanding between you and your doctor. Let us know and good luck on Monday.(:>)
