Thanks for sharing your success story. I am glad to hear that your son is doing well. It is very scary but it sounds like you have it under control.

I  am sure that many parents ,who may read and not post, benefit from positive stories. I remember you told me about the all the handwashing that helped keep your little man healthy the 1st year. Well, knock on wood, Jackson has not yet even had a cold!!! He is only 5 months, but with two older brothers in school, that is unbelievable!  I have become a nag when it comes to handwashing. My kids think I am nuts. As soon as they walk in the door, I have them take there  shoes off and head right to the bathroom to wash their hands.  Instead of using a towel, I use paper towels. It helps in the spread of germs! Even my 3 yr old who was constantly catching something hasn't been really sick for a while!
