Funny you should mention the hand washing Sandra. I am always nagging my kids, but some of these bugs are picked up at kindy or daycare and unfortunately, sometimes it is not in your control. Kids sometimes get over excited and will pick up germs and not think when they are given a piece of fruit later. Also, they touch surfaces and unless you go around wiping everything every five minutes, especially with a large family like ours, the other children pick it up quite easily. The basic reason that I was the only one in the whole house that did not get the bug, is that I am fastidious hand washer and even to the point that to be honest, I have had dermatitis on my hands before now with using too much anti bacterial soap. I switched to dove hand wash and that has helped. Hand washing does help, but sometimes these bugs can be air born also and we must remember to keep our kids away from day care if they have colds and flu. I hate it when I go to drop my child off and others are coughing and spluttering and looking quite sick. Always Kyle has come down with a cold a few days later and he has been having quite a few. I always keep him off when he does have them as I do ALL my kids, to make sure that they fully recover. prevention of spreading germs sometimes means doing that to avoid other peoples kids picking up the same. I can't believe how Ashley made such a rapid recovery this time. Such was the difference with getting the jabs that I would not hesitate for any nausea or vomiting in the future. We are to have a community nurse come out and teach us how to inject soon. It's been so long that I need a refresher and to practice breaking the vials and using the real thing. They are also going to teach someone at his school too which will be real good.Val
