Also forgot to say that the HCT helps to retain some salt too and that is why they do not need to raise the florinef dose. the HCT complements this. So it may be that he is just coming up for a dose increase and I wondered if he has had recentl bood checks what the levels are doing. Could you post them here for us to trouble shoot if he has? My sons renin was 18.8 recently which was pretty high, but it was because they switched him to dex for 6 weeks and took him off the HCT which is like I said a minercorticoid and helsp to retain some sodium. The dex is not so hence his salt cravings and also his elevated renin levels. We had nausea infact at one point and it seems to take a long time to get the renin levels back on track.
