Re: Does Brayden take Florinef?

I forgot to say, if he was diagnosed SV and his needs have changed due to a mild leaning towards SW, and they are not giving him adequate amounts of florinef---the symptoms are craving salt all the time. That does not necessarily mean he can 'retain' that salt. His body is craving it and "keeps" craving it because it cannot retain it---thats why it is so important that you find out what he is. Whether it is SW or SV and then make sure that they run a renin irregardless next time by saying that he is craving salt grossly. My son is SW and does not crave salt---he just takes it normally in his food. When they are treated correctly, they should not be craving salty snacks unless they have exerted themselves greatly and their aldosterone levels are particularly low or there has been non-compliance where the florinef is concerned. Therefore all the salty snacks he is taking in daily will just be excretedin the urine. Hope that helps.
