Some kids have growth problems when treated with it instead of the right dose of hct and when they do not necessarily need Florinef (see Carols post to Julia above)and also, if your son is on Florinef and not receiving either the sufficient dose of "it" or enough cortisone, he is still going to crave salt where he should not be doing and that is unfortunately going to keep happening until his need to retain sodium is addressed. Obviously if he is constantly craving salt it has not been. In fact I would wonder what the dose is he is on and whether it is enough. As I know the problem and have a son with the same, I just Naturally answered the question as it should be. :0)
