Hi Jo,

My sister in law uses many different herbs and supplements with her 2 year olds.  They do not have any medical conditions that I am aware of.  But for instance, when one of their children is bitten by a mosquito or an ant, she gets very swollen around the bite.  They give her an herbal remedy that is supposed to help reduce the swelling.  My CAH daughter is very fair skinned and is a mosquito magnet.......she swells terribly when she is bitten and the bites tend to get hard and spread a bit.  My interest was whether or not these remedies were safe and especially in the instance of our CAH children, as I would much prefer using something natural than slathering her in Skin So Soft or bug spray with deet in it every time she goes outside.

Or when my sister in laws kids get fussy, and I mean VERY fussy, not everyday fussy, she gives them chammomile tabs that settle them right down, especially if they are having trouble sleeping or she takes them for cranial massages and she swears they really work.

Do you get what I mean?  It seems like I have a lot of reading/research to do regarding this issue.  But I have heard that things like DHEA can boost and supplement immune systems and nothing would make me happier than to be able to prevent alot of the stress that comes along with a normal cold or bug for my kids.  Perhaps there is something out there that can give my our kids that extra "boost".  I know there is no magic cure or pill or solution.  But I feel it is worth exploring.
