JillI got a call this morning from our endo and he told me that he is working with others in helping to get newborn testing for CAH in Ohio.
A reporter for the Toledo Blade called and talked to him about doing an artical about it to try to make the public aware of the situation.
They want to interview one family who had a child with a disorder that was screened for and how they say it helped save their child and one family who had a disorder that was not screened for that could have been helped by the screening.
We are the second family. The doctor thought that Caleb's story was a good example since he was admitted into NICU with a sodium of 98 and a potassium of 7.7 ( his tempture was only 37.3 rectally when we took him to the emergency room). We came hours away from losing our baby.
I am hoping that this article will open up the right peoples eyes and pray that God will open up thier minds and hearts. I just feel happy to be able to tell our story and let people know just how badley we need this testing.
The bad part. They are taking a family picture of Mom, Dad and child and I have not had a good hair day in two months. :-)
