Phew! It's been a long time since I've been on the board... Our first daughter is a salt waster and let me tell you all the side effects are worth it if it takes away any of the surgery>> She's had over 15 hrs worth. She's 5 yrs old now.

We had twins 22 short months ago. Our boy is a carrier and our girl is unaffected. I started Dex at about 4 weeks(we were trying so we were very careful) I had an ultrasound at 6 1/2 wks and that was when we discovered two! It was before I even had my intake exam to verify the pregnancy!! Because of twins we opted for the double amnio due to the inability to do a CVS without any doubt of error.

I was excessively moody... my poor husband did not know what he was going to come home to!! I was always hungry... I broke out... How much of this was due to the Dex or twins I'll never know. I did notice a weakened immune system however. I caught everything and I am usually very healthy.

As far as effects after drug exposure to the babies.. They are pretty healthy with frequent colds but they do have a big sister who brings home all kinds of "neat" things from school... They were born full-term and weighed 6lbs. 7oz (boy) and 6 lbs 4oz(girl)

They are now 28lbs and are happy, healthy little tots who want to get medicine like their big sister. I actually give them a chocolate chip just to satisfy them! Because of this I have to keep her meds under lock and key!!

p.s. I have almost completely recovered body wise.. no more stretch marks, pimples and have lost almost all of the 47lbs I gained.
