Dosing...for what it's worth

While micro-managing precise dosing schedules and amounts for very young children may be beneficial, I think it flies right out the window with many adults with CAH or whatever may be ailing them.

Here's my schedule and amounts (the "for what it's worth part"):

Wake up somewhere between 0400-1300 depending on my schedule that day, get around to taking 5 mgs prednisone and  .1 mg of florinef sometime in the midst of coffee.  The precise time is dependent on it actually occurring to me that I need to take them.  That thought doesn't always progress to fruition.

Go to sleep somewhere between 2100 and 0400, again depending on my schedule that day.  Somwhere in the midst of finishing up my day or enjoying wine,  try to remember to take my meds which may range anywhere between 1-3 mgs of prednisone.  The amount is based upon how I feel that day, what level of stress I may be encountering and my level of activity.  During the events following 9/11 and I was working 12-14 hours a day covering the story, I actually took 5 mgs at night.  If I am working at home on something low-key, I may only take 1 or 2 mgs.  Again, the actual amount is dependent upon my actually remembering that I have yet to take them.  Sometimes I remember to go to sleep before remembering to take meds.

In between, eat if I am hungry.  Sometimes, I even forget to do that.

But, I feel fine, am rarely sick, and everything in my body works as it should.  Well, most things but that isn't a result of meds or lack thereof ;-)
