I took dex many years ago...might even be as many as 10 or 15 years but I don't remember.  I do remember it made me cranky and testy, and wanting to jump off a bridge or something equally foolish.  I think using the word monster to describe me at the time would have been apropos.  The other major problem I had is I know I am not always so disciplined as to remember (bother) to take my meds religiously.  Because the dex is longer acting and is taken less than the pred, a missed dose meant a big crash for me.  It's like, a missed prednisone dose isn't the end of the world, but a missed dex dose meant a day recuperating.  In fact, if I remember correctly, the only time I ever had an adrenal crisis was when I was taking dex because of a missed dose.  I would have to look in my records and match up dates to be sure, but I'm pretty sure that was the end of my dates with dex.
