I have had infections that have travelled up that far before I knew that I had them. Have you checked the temp? I had a high temp and pain in the same area. Actually if it is an infection in that area, it is worth waiting for the culture to come back as they can give you the correct anti-biotic then. Before now I have done two lots of unsuccesful anti-biotics with some infections and they have run a culture test to find out why they were not working. I am not one for drinking a great deal---except for coffee, so I am useless when I get anything like that :) Hope that you get to the bottom of what is causing the pain. If it is a urinary infection they are not pleasant at all. Hot water bottles, anti-biotics, lots of fluid and cranberry tablets. Pain killers too!
