I now have the training to do jabs and they gave me some needles and two solu cortef vials for injection. On the scripted tab at the side it says to give 1ml (50mg) by intramuscular injection and if unwell & vomiting, as directed. Give 2ml (100mg) if very sick. Yet when he was ill on the weekend we just doubled the normal daily dose and gave him 0.2ml (10mg) in ewach ark 6 hours apart. I'll ask the question about dosing as a separate question above so that it catches people eye. With Ashley, last weekend was the firt time that we have EVER had the jab. I have always kept him at home and persistently kept dosing him HCT and water until SOME of it has been absorbed. However, since reading that the stomach can shut down when they have a crisis, I wanted to learn to do the jab. It was a lot easier learning than I anticipated. I actually will try this next time he is sick and vomiting, but I don't think I will inject 1ml of the stuff---I may inject half of that and take him to A&E to be checked over.Val
