If you are going to give your daughter her meds or the tonic, to try to give them a while before the antacid. (About an hour) Otherwise the antacid is going to interfere with the absorption of any goodness in the tonic---most certainly iron---and even will reduce the effect of her hydrocortisone or corticosteroid. Both these in itself could then hold up her recovery. Is she on hydrocortisone, dex or pred?
