We experienced almost the same thing. Our son was born on a Monday, circumsized on Wednesday morning, and we were discharged on Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday morning, we got a call from our peidatricians office that we needed to come in right away, that some numbers on the infant screen were elevated and they needed to see us right away. When we met with the doctor they told us that first we need to make sure this is really a boy. That completely shocked us because he was already circumsized. All the doctor did was check for testicles (which he had), and that was it. It was quite a shock to us, though, so I know what your cousin is going through.
