Re: To Carol & Sandra

These are normal electrolyte levels, according to one website I like to use.  It seems they reference these numbers to adults, so I don't know if the normal values would be different with a patient who was a child.

Sandra, it seems most of Jackson's electrolytes---with the exception of CO2, which is LOW---are within normal ranges, but very much on the cusp.  (With CAh, problems are generally with low sodium, low aldosterone, high potassium, and high renin.)  As i mentioned to you, when you were in NYC----given that your son's numbers are very much borderline, I hope that Dr. New was able to give a good, reasoned explanation why she decided he didn't need florinef, when two other doctors looked at the same numbers and thought that he did.

What concerns me is that from what you've posted---this last time, and in the past---it seems that Jackson's electrolyte, renin, and aldosterone numbers have all moved in the wrong direction, since elimination of the florinef.  ( I think you had mentioned an increase in renin, and a decrease in aldosterone, in tests done after the florinef was initially eliminated---the opposite of what you want to happen.)  IF a doctor can look at these results and PURPOSEFULLY decide to eliminate a medication that two other doctors have suggested, I think they owe you a logical explanation why.

Also, like Lynn says, when a doctor says something is "unremarkable," it generally means there is nothing unusual about it. "Remarkable" would mean that it is something she is taking notice of and is concerned about.
