Re: To all

Thanks so much for the information, I feel much better now!  My infant is doing things a ten or eleven month old would be doing right now, but I am trying to look into programs which would lend us a hand financially.  Baby is a GERD baby, as is my 3 year old.  We are battling ins. companies almost daily to get them to pay for the tremendous amounts of medications she is on.  She has prescription formula, Neocate which runs approx. $50 a can, and our policy, which we upgraded to go out of state for her surgery, only allows us (each family member) $1,000 a year for prescriptions.  After that we fall into the 80/20 reimbursement plan.  Well, she needs 5 cases (twenty cans) of formula a month, running us over $900 a month.  As you can see, we easily exhaust her yearly $1,000 within a month or two each year, forcing us to find the money up front to care for her.  We have quickly drained our savings accounts etc.  She has milk protein allergies as well, (so did 3 year old) and cannot tolerate regular formulas, they curdle in her stomach and she throws up huge amounts constantly.  She also has severe reflux, we have found both our children blue in their bassinettes on many occasions.  Very frightning I must say, so both of our children are also on Prilosec.  As an infant goes, she cannot take a pill so we have to have the Prilosec spun by Yale, the only pharm. that can do it and that bottle, while covered has a $40 dollar co-pay.  Since there is no more money left on her yearly amount, the bottle is running us $300 a month!  I am a nervous wreck, as the ins. company is making us feel like they are doing us a huge favor by paying for the formula, telling us that even though hubby works for the town, his policy is considered "private" thus, they (ins) are not mandated by law to pay for her formula!  So they are currently reviewing if they will continue to pay or not.  If not, I need to find other avenues because if I cannot keep formula down, I will not be able to keep meds down.  So, that is the reason I asked about developemental delays, though she does not have any, I have someone coming out to my home from birth to three to examine her.  My only hope is that because she is not rolling over yet she will qualify, but honestly, and on a lighter note, I think she is just a little to weighty to get completely over!  LOL!  Blessings to all, and thank you for your responses, guess they are just hot kids!  Kaye
