Re: dex and bone growth of the fetus

Hi Eviee!  I am expecting with a due date of July 23rd.  I do not know as of yet if this baby is affected, but am taking the Dex treatment as well.  I have one daughter not affected, not a carrier, I have a seven month old daughter with SWCAH.  My first daughter had "short" legs as well on the ultra-sounds and it was frightning, but she was born with no problems whatsoever.  She is now a long legged pony tripping along on skinny little legs.  I am supposing that her bone growth was either just a tad slow, and they also mentioned that the test does measure somewhat shy of what the true measurements really are.  I attended a lecture awhile back in New York with Dr. New where one of the discussions was on Dex treatment.  I do not recall any mention of bone growth being an issue!  By the way, have you visited the cares foundation website?  Kelly Light has a lot of information that may be of use to you there, as it was her who organized the lecture with Dr. New.  Try to relax, I know, easier said than done as I run around in a tizzy half of the time but your journey is almost over!  Blessings to you, congratulations on the angel you are carrying!  Kaye
