I am sure that the parents of the children who DIED due to the prolonged negligence of this company would not agree with your thoughts on this subject. I seriously doubt that this action will bring down such a huge company and if we win, we plan to ask them to begin producing a 1 mg pill. The government has the ability to "encourage" such a thing to happen. This is not something that we have entered into lightly. If this company's business is run by knowingly producing a life sustaining med that didn't work thereby causing irreparable damage to innocent babies, they should be held accountable for their actions. This is the only way to make sure that they will think twice the next time something like this happens and act more quickly - before a parent has to suffer the devastation of the loss of their precious child. What good is a company who makes meds that don't work anyway? This is an excellent example as to why the legal system is there in the first place. I don't believe that you were on the board during that time so you didn't witness the panic and frustration of all the parents whose infants were grossly undersuppressed and seriously damaged by the negligence of this company. I am sure that you can empathize with the pain though as you have 5 children of your own and it could have just as easily been your child. Dozens of parents (including lawyers, pharmacists, scientists AND endos) called to alert them to this error. Some were told that it must be the parents giving the wrong dose thereby resulting in the behavioral problems of the child, most were simply ignored. Thank you to all of you who emailed me and to those who picked up the error in my earlier post. Upjohn's research team admitted that the liquid cortef was not working for 18 out of 19 children - not 8 out of 9 as I had stated in my previous post. I seriously doubt that our cases will bankrupt this multi billion dollar company,(lol) but if it does happen, I spent a couple of minutes on the net and found 7 other pharmaceutical companies who produce Hydrocortone in tab form as well as solu cortef and short-term suspension form as well as 22 companies that manufacture Prednisolone. I think we have our bases covered, but thank you for your concern.(:>) Julie, just click on the blue email address on the bottom of this post and it will be forwarded directly to me, or you can reach me at Ltorony@ct2.nai.net. I can't wait to share stories.
