ValWhat I see is the drug company being the only ones sued from your original post or blamed for the mishap. All the above are culpable.
As for discussing it in the forum, I wasn't aware that this was a controvercial subject---so naturally I assumed that it could be discussed to it's entirety. What purpose would it serve NOT to discuss it? I am sure the manufacturers know very much anyway that they are not solely responsible. I would imagine their lawyers have told them as much---I mean I am just a parent with no legal training and I came up with the above in the natural progression of thinking that all through.
Like I said we are all affected STILL now. That is because the ONE company that could have lead the way where making a 1mg pill was concerned and who did try to be innovative in making a suspension (let's face it, when that was made everyone basically thought it was great that we could Paeidatrically dose these kids to allow proper growth-no one thinks about the down side at the time). They were not to know initially that things would turn out the way that they did. Who is responsible for testing a drug in a country before they approve it for use in children? The manufacturer or the FDA? Just curious.
When they changed an ingredient, legally that in itself was something that should have warranted being tested again by such a body. Did they even tests nthe new formulation or inform the FDA of the change? I guess there are all sorts of things they would need to iron out in that area. It all depends whether they followed the legal protocol for one where getting drugs approved and keeping them that way is concerned. Baiscally there was a glitch in that system somewhere and wherever it occured, that particular body involved would be equally to blame for such. This has all been going on for at least since I started the board hasn't it? Is that not too long for a law suit? Exactly how long does it usually take?
