I know what you mean, Valerie! Don't you just want to beat her senseless sometimes??? LOL!!!!
Val, you're driving me crazy, too, because as soon as I finish one response to you, it's already obsolete because you've put up 2-3 more! I had written what I wrote below, and was just about ready to put it up, but now it's already outdated. Could it be that we're basically in agreement, except about when the peaks are? You are saying 3 am and 7 am, which is what is making you want to give the first dose at 2. But, if you look at the graph (the one you just re-posted), what i'm trying to say is that yes, there is a little blip, starting at around 3 am. But the blip doesn't REALLY get bigger till about 4 am, and gets bigger REAL fast between 4 and 8, with the highest point at 8 am. So, you would want to target the meds for the most amount of area under the curve. I STILL think that moving things toward 4 AM, rather than 2 AM, if one were to make a choice, is probably the way to go. With that, I will stop yapping for now. I'm sure everyone is sick of hearing me talk....I'm sick of hearing me talk!!!
Anyway, this is what I had written before:
Val, I did look at what you sent and, actually, it kinda confirms my feelings, which is to keep dosing to between the hours of APPROXIMATELY 3-4 AM and 4-5 PM. I think the sizes of the relative doses would also have to do with HOW OFTEN one is willing to dose. I think it is more difficult to get a perfect match with 3X/day dosing, even though it is more realistic for compliance. That might be why it is more difficult to adjust it for Ashley. At any rate, it STILL seems to me that 2 am is too early, and I would still want to move that dose to a later time.
If you're willing to go to 4X/day with HC, I think the times and relative percentages that Laura has worked out for her daughter makes total sense, which are at ~3 am, 6:30 am, 11:30 am, and 3:30 pm. The 3 am dose peaks at around 4 am, when levels start to pick up. And the 6:30 am dose (which is the biggest), peaks in time to address the 8 am crest. The other two are smaller doses, and basically carry you from the late afternoon into the evening. When they wear off, levels are naturally supposed to be low anyway.
Geez....all I did was make one teeny innocent remark to Julia about possibly moving her daughter's dose times up. WHY did I open my BIG MOUTH anyway??? (Though, Julia, I still stand by what I said...this only serves to confirm it.)
