Val, I think that a 1mg pill would be WONDERFUL everywhere! But what I was talking about is a time released pill so that we could give the pill before bed and the HC meds are RELEASED hours later when they would need them. Even cold capsules have this technololgy in some of them. The little balls inside the capsule are different colored. Some are white and won't break down in the stomach for x number of hours, the red ones won't break down until Y number of hours. This would be like getting up at 3:00 am to give the meds with out having to wake up! The other doses could be the regular pill. This was me dreaming out loud but this technology is here. This is not farfetched but it all comes down to money....or does it?? We have to come together and ask, beg, and demand better treatment for our kids. I do not think this would be needed in dex or prednisone as those drugs are longer lasting. (I'm asking our endo about the scheduling with the biggest dose at 3:00am. I am not looking forward to this as sometimes I have trouble getting back to sleep and I have to work the next morning. But whatever it takes for my little one!) A time released HC would be so much easier! I asked my sister who is a nurse if she could think of where to begin, she's asking the doctors she works with and will let me know.
