I first started using Emla Cream this winter - the first I have heard about it. My son is 6 and he said it doesn't hurt at all with the cream - he doesn't like it when the bandage is removed. My daughter who is 3 and the first time we used the cream for her, she wasn't quite as hysterical as the time before. I really think it works. The key now is getting them to realize it won't hurt as much, as I think the fear is as much the idea of it as it is the actual pain. Good luck - I hope it works for you! Becki
