LauraI do the same thing with the plastic wrap. God bless Reynolds Wrap! Hi Katrina. I am Laura. I had read your first post on the other board. (the first time I had ever visited that side and the last thank you) I wanted to try to contact you without going back there, and here you are. How cool is that. I just could not believe you have SO much in common with me. My daughter is 4 and a half. She has SWCAH. And she almost died at birth. If you don't mind me asking, do you live anywhere in the states? I live in Ohio. Her nearly loosing her life prompted me to fight for Newborn Screening here in Ohio. Of course that would not have changed the mistake they made when they told me I had a son for a week. JUST LIKE YOU. I couldn't believe that. If you would like to chat sometime, please email me.
Glad to hear your blood draw was a success. We also make it a day of fun when she has to go get her blood work done. I try to take away the anxiety by going to the gift shop afterwards and lunch. Blood draws used to be SO AWFUL. We started her on the EMLA at around 2. She still did not understand that it would not hurt if she put the cream on. Once she trusted that it would work, it was a miracle. From crying and clinging to walking in and thanking them for the stickers. She doesn't even tense up anymore either. EMLA is a true gift from God. I even used it to get a mean splinter out this summer. She NEVER felt me dig it out. How awesome it that?
