JoI recently began to suspect that our daughter was oversuppressed after reading the message board. Before then, I don't think I would have questioned her doses, so it just goes to show that there is strength in numbers!!
Anyway, things that tipped me off: a slightly hairy back (I'm a little hairy-just what you alway wanted to know about a perfect stranger hey?), a little on the small side ( weight in the fiftieth percentile and height in the fifth) although I'm 5'2 and my hubby 5'9, so chances of her being tall anyway are slim, and always asking for food right after meals. She eats really well. So at our last endo visit, I asked if we could reduce the meds and our dr was extremely cooperative and did say that recent studies indicated that perhaps these kids don't need the amount of hydrocortisone initially thought. We lowered her meds by a half tablet per day. We're taking bloodwork in April to see how well she is responding to it.
One luck, she is extremely active and seems to love all kinds of sports and her eating habits are pretty good except for when the grandmas and grandpas are around. Then all sorts is done behind our backs!!:) By the way, she will be 3 in May. And we are Canadian too! Manitoba!
I appreciate your willingness to share about your children- I wouldn't know to watch out for potential weight issues if I didn't hear it on this message board!
Have a great day everyone!
