Lori, Assuming that there are no other issues, the flu shot will not make you sick (dead virus is used), nor will it cause you to get sick more often. There might be some soreness at the injection site. The flu shot is to protect you against influenzia (sp?). I believe this year there were 3 major strains in the flu vaccine. The flu shot will not protect us or our children from all of the upper-respatory viruses, stomach virus, etc. that go around each year. It is only for influenza, and then for the strains that doctors/scientist find that will probably effect us most. I know that some on this board, for very valid reasons, have choosen not to have their CAH (and non-CAH) children receive the vaccine. Olivia and I have both received the flu vaccine since she has been diagnosed with CAH. Unless the pediatrician has a good reason not too, next year Ruth will also get a flu vaccine.
