I just checked with my pharmacist and he actually didn't know anything about any shortage of the 5mg cortef tabs! He mentioned he had a rather large amount in stock so unless he had tried to place an order, he wouldn't have known. He did state that had it been a huge backorder, he would have been notified and he hadn't as of this afternoon. So, I decided to call Upjohn myself, as many others have, and see what they had to say. I spoke with Mark in "Product Information". He said that the 5mg and 10 mg had been backordered very briefly, but they no longer are. Orders were all filled as of Monday and everything is under control - no reasons for alarm. With that said, I also discussed the real need for 1mg tablets. He said he had no idea why they weren't made, but would send my request in. He also gave me a person to send requests/suggestions to.
