We found a pharmicist that uses hydrocortisone powder and weighs it out and fills capsules for the exact amount of dosage you need!! This cost us no extra except for the $5.00 mailing/handling fee which we feel is well worth it. This way if your child needs a 2mg dose you do not have to guess and try to 1/8 the 5mg pill. Good luck to those who are having difficulty finding 5mg Cortef. We stock up on them just in case of things like this shortage. Our endo writes a script including extra for triple dosing necessities. Then we fill the next prescription as soon as insurance allows us. Then we use them in order to rotate through the stock but we have at least 4 months supply on hand right now.
