Congrats on your pregnancy!! But I must say ... SHOTS?!? Who told you that it must be shots?? I have never heard of the dex treatment being administered by shots (although that doesn't mean much!); when I took the dex treatment with my now 4 yr old SW daughter, it was all oral medication (as you can tell, I'm a big baby when it comes to shots!). As Sandra said, start the dex ASAP!! The sooner you take it after missing your period, the better. As far as CVS vs. amnio, my husband and I chose to wait for the amnio (which was at around 16 weeks I think??), mostly because it took us over 8 yrs to get pregnant, and the CVS carries a higher rate of miscarriage (although still quite low, I believe). I must also say that from everything I've read and heard, taking the dex unnecessarily (if the baby does not have CAH) has not been found to have any adverse effects on baby, except possibly a slightly lower birth weight. God's blessings to you and baby!Wendy-Lee
