BraydensmomJulie,
You won't need to see the doctor to get the rx for the dx. Call them to remind them of your situation ( child with CAH ) and ask for the rx to be called in to your pharmacy. Don't wait to see the doctor. You need to start taking the dex today, now, yesterday! (smile). The sex organs are being formed now.
The side effects of the dex are one of the main reasons why I had the CVS done. I did the research comparing CVS vs amnio. Both have risks. I decided, for me, the risk of being on the dex longer than I had to was greater than the risk of the CVS. I had high blood pressure. But that was me. I had all sorts of reactions from the dex. I was very relieved when we found out the baby (now known as Sara... currently 9 months old and WAY cute!) would not have CAH. The result of boy or girl was known within 2 days after having the CVS. This was the hardest part. We knew she was a girl for I think a week, maybe two, before it was known that she did not have CAH.
Congrats!!
Call your doctor!!
