My son was diagnosed with advanced bone age 3 years ago. At the time of diagnosis we found out that his last 3 bone ages were misread. Just remember the bone age can be read differently by 2 different radiologists. My son is now 9 and his bone age is now between 10.5 and 11. We have narrowed the gap some, but different doctors have different opinions. When my son was first diagnosed with advanced bone age he was put on Pediapred many times his 17OHP came back between 0-4. Yes his bone age slowed down, but so did his growth and then came the issues of oversuppression. We moved 2 years ago and the new doctor put him pack on Cortef tabs and he started growing again. This doctor told me that with my son the bones in his hand all don't read the same age. This is why we have been getting conflicting opinions re: his bone age. I think this last doctor was on the right track continuing to treat him with Cortef and just watching him closely. When he was on the Pediapred, he didn't grow for 1 1/2 years. I hope this was helpful.Cheryl
