I can only say that I wish MORE attention had been paid to my daughter's enlarged clitoris when she was an infant up until she was 3 yrs old.  It was the ONLY sign we had that something was not right and I was told REPEATEDLY to "calm down and not be such a nervous mom - there is a wide range or normal and she is probably just one extreme."  Luckily, my daughter diagnosed at 3 (because I continued to question the doctors about the enlarged clitoris and the emergence of pubic hair) and I say luckily because within months of her diagnosis she caught a very nasty stomach virus and her endo said she probably would not have survived it without the meds.  Having said all that, she has not had any surgery and once on the meds she grew into it and it came to be not externally noticeable within several years. I am eternally grateful to the endo she had up until she retired last summer who said NOT to do surgery and to wait to see how things progressed.
