We waited for the amnio, mainly because the CVS carries a higher miscarriage risk factor; we had waited almost 9 yrs for this pregnancy, and weren't about to take even a slightly higher risk! (1 or 2 % doesn't seem very much higher, unless YOU are that 1 or 2 %!) Also, there is no evidence that being on the dex unecessarily has any harmful effects on the baby - some women take this same medication for other conditions, continue to take it right through their pregnancies, and their (obviously non-CAH) babies seem to be fine. The choice is completely up to you. I will also concur and say, NO!, you do not have to keep taking the dex if you are carrying an unaffected girl; tell your endo to check into it better, or get another opinion. I wouldn't take it full term for no reason, if I could help it. Congratultions on your pregnancy! I will keep you and baby in my prayers!Wendy-Lee
