Dear Betsy, I am so terribly sorry for the loss of your baby. I just wanted to let you know you are not alone and although things may seem so unbearably painful now things will get better. I also lost my 1st baby (a son we named Jay) when I was 31. He too was born premature (24wks) and at the time we knew nothing about CAH (still don't know if he had it). To make a long story short I had my daughter Brooke a year and half later (she was born at 27.5 wks) and we found out 6 months after she was born she has CAH (luckily Non Salt-wasting). Brooke is now almost 2 & is doing exceedingly well despite her CAh and the numerous problems she has had related to her prematurity. I truly beleive her "big-brother" Jay has seen her through a very rough start. We are now pregnant again and praying all will go well with this baby CAH or not. We are having ourselves tested to see what strain of the disorder we carry & from what I understand the Dex treatment does help for those who chose to take it. I guess my main point is CAH or not the outlook is still great you will have another baby & if he/she is affected they cab live a hapy normal, life. My sincere sympathy goes out to you, your husband & your families and although it will be difficult at fist try to remain positive. Every child is a blessing! MaureenMaureen
