Sorry for your loss

I'm so sorry for your loss.  It is so good that you researched and wanted to learn more about CAH, even in your grief.  Yes, the 1 in 4 chance is per child.  But you shouldn't let it discourage you.  I know it's tough news to hear though, because I remember trying to process it all myself.  Dexamethazone treatment has helped quite a few people, as long as it is administered by the 5th week of the pregnancy.

I have non-classic, my husband is a carrier, and we have three children.  #1 is a girl from a previous marriage and has one of my non classical mutations.  #2 is a boy with three mutations (2 salt wasting and one non classic).  #3 is a girl with three mutations also (2 salt wasting and one non classic).  Aside from the pills it is a "normal" life (whatever normal is - LOL).

If you would like, I'm sure Kelly would put a picture of your son on the in memory page.

In Sympathy,

Adina
