Our endocrinologist doesn't recommend emotional stress dosing.  He was afraid it would stunt their growth if we did it too often.  We only stress dose for >101 fever, vomiting, or recently Jake had bronchitis and an ear infection and we had to stress dose for one day because he was taking albuterol syrup and that has a counter reaction with Cortef.

Me personally (I'm a non classic), I take Super Vitamin B Complex stress tablets (one a day, in the morning) from Target or Walmart.  I would never take one at night or you will be up all night long.  They help with the lack of energy and crankiness/moodiness or shakiness (like a cup of coffee would) without the negative effects of caffiene.  They only work when taken with small amounts or snacks of energy foods (carbohydrates) as fuel, and should only be used under the supervision of a physician to prevent countereacting with other medications.  Don't do this without a doctor's consent.  Some doctors are anti supplement.
