Whenever we increase our boy's dose to help get him over illness, he gets a couple of days of stomach cramps from the high intake of steroids. Our GP doesn't give children anything for gastric problems that are not too severe; apparently it is better to let the bug just move on through. We still take our boy to the doctor whenever we are worried, as you are now, because it helps us.
