Hello, when our son gets a fever, our pediatrician tells us to double his cortisone always. A few weeks ago Evan got a cold with no fever and started vomitting. He did about four times over the period of the morning. I took him to our ped and he admitted him into hospital right away. Our ped does not like to take chances with Evan and feels he would rather put him in the hospital on an introvenous IV with Cortisone and not let him out of the hospital until he stops throwing up. We have been very lucky, Evan is 4 years old and this is the first time he has been admitted in the past 2 years. Evan is the only child that we know of in our city that has CAH, we have to drive 8 hours to see our endo. Maybe that is why our ped is so cautious, but it is nice to know he is. Just be careful of the vomitting because then they aren't keeping their meds down and that was our peds concern. Keep the fluids going too, but me myself, I don't like to mess around when he is throwing up. Even though you are giving more meds, they are still being thrown up. If she keeps throwing up all day I would be very concerned, but this is just how our ped deals with it and I sleep better for it.
