So many excellent points. Laura K.- How is your oldest daughter doing today? Did they decide to change her meds.? What CAH type is she? (salt waster/ 21 hydroxlase defieciency?)

Shaun P.- Nice to "hear" a post from you. Always informative. Thank you. I hope your son is doing well. Is there any way a person can find out what NIH is working on in the CAH field. This is what I was thinking lately. It seems a lot of parents notice their children a day after their meds. were increased for an illness, the children seem to be extremely emotional. Like a roller coaster. I know for my daughter who is ALWAYS in good spirits (unless she is tired or hungry) is VERY aggressive in her actions, or she will go from laughing to crying the next minute, and does not sleep well. It lasts a couple of days if the meds were increased for a few days. Now if we are replacing what they do not have, then why do they react like they are getting too much? I noticed that a friend of mine has a daughter with the same diagnosis as my daughter, 21 hydroxlase/ salt wasting. Why is her daughter's CAH harder to control then my daughters? Why does, as another mother with two CAH girls (same CAH) react differently to fever and vomitting? One handles a fever with no problem the other winds up in the E.R. And visa versa. Am I missing something here? I wish they could even break down these CAH patients even more. Like CAH due to 21 hydroxlase, due to blah, blah, blah. Whatever blah blah blah would be. There has to be something else that makes two patients that are the same, different in their reactions and treatments. I would also like to see someone out there trying to invent that pump we had mentioned on here before. About the pump that is used in Diabetics. Something that automatically senses the need for cortisol in the blood and despenses it. That and a hand held device like a glucometer. But one that measures sodium levels AND perhaps sugar. So we can monitor our children closer. WHY? Why is this not being researched or is it and we do not know about it. And if it isn't where do we submit our suggestions? (cleansing breath) Ok, I just had to get all that off my chest.  If anyone can elaborate on this let me know. I am taking all this to my daughter's endo. next week. (poor doctor) Thanks for all the input. It was all great.
