Hi Karen

We send or take our son out of the room, until he has regained some control. He will either come back smiling, or fall asleep. If he comes back, he will sometimes look for food. He is only 1yr 6mths, but already we have found confrontation to be unhelpful and time consuming. He will often take himself out unprompted to shout/cry/let off steam, and obviously feels better on his return.

Karen, I'm sure this is not what you want to hear, but we have noticed that our chap is far more likely to throw a tantrum for his Mum than for me. I attribute this to the greater emotional payoff such behaviour elicits from mothers!
