LisaI am wondering if anyone can help. I am 9 weeks pregnant with my third child. I have a 21-month old daughter with SWCAH. I am scheduled to have an CVS done in 2 weeks. The office where I am having it done called the other day and told me to call my insurance company to see if they will pay for this test to be done. Well, we found out that our insurance company will not pay for any DNA testing to be done. They told us that this test is NOT medically necessary. I mean who are these people? They are insurace people, not doctors. Who are they to tell me that this test is not medically necessary. We are going to fight them all the way to pay for this test. My daughter's endo. and the genetics doctor that is doing the test is going to write letters for us stating that this test is medically necessary. Does anyone know what else we can do to have this test paid for? I know it is going to cost over $600. So, if we fight the insurance company and they still won't pay then we are stuck paying for it. Has anyone who has ever had to have a CVS or amnio done ever had to deal with this? This whole situation is stressing me out, I don't need this now. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help...
