Hi Jeanne,

My first question would be what symptoms did you notice in your daughter that she was diagnosed with nonclassical CAH. You might want to talk to Kelly Leight with CARES Foundation on more information on nonclassical cah.

The chance that the next child would have a different kind of CAH (classical) would be rare. Usually, the children  all have the same type of CAH althought the severity can vary. This is all information I have read and been told so don't take my word for it. You need to talk to the endocrinologist who diagnosed your daughter. As far as you or your husband having non classical, it would be interesting to find out. Genetic testing might help you get answers as to if it is more likely nonclassical.

Good luck. The decision to have kids is not a light one to make. Of course the rewards are plentiful. I am thinking of trying again and I have a SV boy and 2 non cah boys. I guess, I'm still trying for that girl!
