SandraHi Susan,
Sorry to butt in on your post but I have a question for you. I was told that the newborn screen was only able to pick up Classical CAH.
I am in Texas and my son was diagnosed through newborn screen as a saltwaster. He was about 30 days old when they put him on meds. After much investigation on my part and DNA testing, it came to be that he was not a saltwaster but a simple virilizer. To me this was great news. I had a little less to worry about. I, of course, would have to worry about possible adrenal crisis but not a saltwasting crisis.
So, my question to you is this....How did they determine it was non classical from the newborn screen? Is she taking medication and what, if you remeber, were her numbers (17ohp etc... ) when she was diagnosed?
I would certainly appreciate your help.
Thank you,
Sandra Billings
