dexamethasone
Apr. 12th, 2002   5:53am

We have four children, the youngest of which is a SW CAH girl.  I’m really upset to find out that I’m pregnant again - I feel overwhelmed by my situation as it is!  I’m now worried about carrying another CAH child and am undecided as to what to do about dexamethasone.  My instinct is not to take anything while pregnant and here in the UK there is a fairly conservative line on taking it.. My consultant doesn’t feel there is enough evidence in its favour.

I know that dexamethasone has been discussed before but it would really help me to run through some of the stuff again.  Does anyone have a bad experience of taking it or has anyone taken it and found it hasn’t made a difference? And what about testing?  Again I would never have chosen testing in a previous pregnancy and I’m worried about the risks involved.

Any stories would be helpful.  I feel on my own in this one.

Thanks
