AndrewHi Denise
I do not have CAH, although I am a "carrier" parent. I did have a wisdom tooth removed in the dentist’s chair. He had given me the choice of his office or a referral to the hospital. He pointed out that for some people it can be an easy operation, but for others it can be quite painful. After the deed was done, we both agreed that the next time it would be a hospital job - he had terrible trouble extracting the tooth, and I had excruciating pain for days afterwards because a dentist cannot prescribe painkillers as strong as I needed.
One of my remaining wisdom teeth is impacted, but the surgeon to whom I was referred won’t do it unless/until he has to, as he says it is a serious operation. My wife had no problems getting her wisdom teeth out, and I know my experience was exceptional, but if it were my son, I would take him to the hospital. All the more so if it were my CAH boy.
With every good wish
